The cold fill
Most cosmetic actives are compounded warm, because warm is faster. Heat is also what degrades them. Sorex compounds and fills at low temperature and prints the fill date on every pack, so what is on the label is what is in the bottle.
The problem
Heat is the cheapest way to make a cosmetic, and the most expensive thing you can do to an active.
Standard cosmetic manufacture runs hot. Heating a batch to 40–60°C makes emulsions form faster, powders disperse more easily and a tank turn over in hours instead of days. For a body lotion that is simply good engineering.
For the ingredients people actually buy a serum for, it is the beginning of the end. L-ascorbic acid oxidises — that is the orange bottle everyone recognises. Retinaldehyde degrades under heat and light. Peptide chains hydrolyse. None of that is visible on a label, and the clock does not start when you open the box. It starts in the vessel.
So a bottle can be honestly labelled 15% and be materially less than that by the time it reaches a bathroom shelf. Nothing about that is fraudulent. It is just what happens when the process is optimised for throughput.
The process

Cold compounding
The 2000 concentrates are built in a jacketed vessel held at 4–6°C rather than the 40–60°C most cosmetic manufacture runs at. Everything takes longer to disperse. Nothing is being cooked while it disperses.

Nitrogen blanket
Oxygen-sensitive formulas — ascorbic, retinal, the peptide complex — have the headspace displaced with nitrogen immediately before the cap goes on, so the bottle is sealed over inert gas rather than over air.

Opaque airless packaging
A dropper bottle draws a fresh headspace of oxygen every single time it is opened. The concentrates ship in opaque airless pumps instead, which is why you cannot see the fluid and why it stays the colour it started.

Fill date on the base
Not a lot code you would need us to decode. The date the batch was filled, printed where you can read it, so you can hold a claim about freshness against an actual number.

Insulated dispatch
Between May and September the 2000 series ships with a phase-change pack in an insulated mailer at no charge. Formulating cold and then leaving a parcel on a hot porch would defeat the entire point.
What this is not
An honest limit
Cold filling protects potency in manufacture and transit. It does not make a product work better than its formula, it does not extend shelf life indefinitely, and it is not a claim about what any of these products do to your body — they are cosmetics, for the appearance of skin.
It also does nothing for the 1000, 3000 and 7000 series in any meaningful way. Cleansers, creams and body lotion are not fragile, and we fill those cold mainly because the line is already cold. The place it genuinely matters is the 2000 series, which is why those carry the lowest fill temperatures and the nitrogen blanket.
Once a bottle is open, the clock is yours. Keep the concentrates out of a sunlit window and a steamy shower shelf, and use them inside six months.
